If you are a cigar fan, you may have heard of the Punch Manuel Lopez Churchill cigar. It is a classic Cuban cigar named after the famous British Prime Minister Winston Churchill who was known for his love of cigars.
But do you know the history behind this cigar and why it is so popular among cigar enthusiasts?
The Punch brand was created in 1840 by a German named Ludwig Horne, who moved to Havana and opened a cigar factory. He named his brand after the popular British puppet show Punch and Judy, which was a satire of political and social events of the time. The brand soon became popular among British smokers who embraced its rich, spicy flavor.
In 1874, Horne sold his factory to Manuel Lopez Fernandez, who added his name to the brand and expanded its production. He also created different sizes and shapes of cigars to cater to different tastes and preferences. One of these was the Churchill size, a long, thick cigar measuring 7 inches long and 47 gauge. The size was named in honor of Winston Churchill, who visited Cuba as a young soldier and journalist in 1895 and became interested in Cuban cigars.
The Manuel Lopez Churchill Punch Cigar is a medium-to-high-strung cigar that offers a complex and balanced blend of flavors. The wrapper is a dark brown Cuban leaf, giving it a smooth, oily appearance. The filler and binder are made from Cuban tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region, which is considered the best in the world for growing tobacco. The cigar has notes of wood, leather, pepper, coffee, nuts and sweets. It burns evenly and produces a thick and aromatic smoke.
The Manuel Lopez Churchill Punch Cigar is a great choice for experienced smokers who enjoy a long, quality smoke. It pairs well with coffee and other beverages. This cigar is also a cigar that has a lot of history and tradition behind it, making it a collector’s item for some.
If you are looking for a cigar that has quality, flavor, history and prestige, then you should definitely try the Manuel Lopez Churchill Punch Cigar.
It is a cigar that will not disappoint you and will make you feel like a true gentleman.
