Coronation

A rather rough and uneven wrapper, this cigar is not the most beautiful Habanos creation. The smell before lighting is just tobacco and the smoke before lighting, which is stronger than it should be, is earthy.

Construction:

The airway is a bit stiff. The cigar also burns very slowly, which is not good news if you prefer a slow smoke – you may have to relight the cigar a few times. In addition, the construction seems very irregular, in other reviews some have complained about the abundance of smoke and the burning too fast.

Taste:

First of all, Coronation doesn’t claim to have a complex taste. The samples available are from 2007-2008, as they are very strong at first, with a strong earthy flavor and a slight hint of spice in the background. The cigar progresses logically and the flavors become stronger. At the same time, leather notes are added to the bouquet of flavors. The last third of the cigar is not so strong and the smoke becomes sharp as you struggle to keep the cigar lit.

Considering that it is presented as an economical cigar, it has the most important feature that all budget cigars should have – consistency. If you want to compare it to another everyday cigar, for example, you can go for the Partagas Mille Fleurs.

Coronation

It is not the most attractive option in the Hoyo de Monterrey line. Years of aging have removed the sharpness and created balance and richness.
