Punch Manuel Lopez Petit Punch:
Punch is one of the oldest sub-brands produced by the Habanos company, which was founded in the 19th century by:
Don Manuel Lopez
Juan Valle
Cia
with the aim of taking a share of the European market, especially England, and it also adapted its name from the name of a humorous magazine that was published at that time.
Today, the brand’s cigarette boxes still feature the image of Mr. Punch, the famous clown from the same satirical magazine, smoking Habanos, alongside images of 19th-century cigarette factories, which can still be seen in cigarette factories today.
In 1931, the Punch cigarette factory was moved to a new factory where the
Hoyo De Monterrey
cigarettes are produced, known as the
La Corona
factory.
The distinctive and unique flavor, moderate bitterness, are the hallmarks of Punch products, which are produced using tobacco from the
Vuelta Abajo
region in various sizes and shapes, all rolled by hand and with an inner layer made of whole leaves.
The renowned and long-standing Habanos company was founded in the 19th century, and today Punch, one of the brand’s subsidiaries, has introduced its latest product line in a new size throughout its history, with a 50-gauge ring, to the consumer market in 2019.
The cigar in question was usually produced and marketed in packs of 50 until the production of these packs of 50 was stopped in 2003.
Its outer layer is:
Claro
with a silky and delicate appearance.
The tobacco leaves used in the preparation of the cigar are all from the region:
Vuelta Abajo
.
Although Punch products are known for their medium appeal, this cigar can surprise you because it shows off its appeal at the very beginning and you will witness flavors such as pepper and leather notes, and then you will feel woody and floral notes that increase as you approach the end of the cigar.
If you are looking for a cigar with an acceptable appeal and an attractive flavor profile but do not have enough time to smoke, we recommend choosing this cigar.
